Already gaining the backing of DJ Envy after Newz' manager, a classmate of Envy's in college, introduced his rapper to the All-Star Hot 97 DJ a few years ago. Since then, along with the help of the man they call The People's Choice, Newz and rapper Coke formed Blok Gang Music, their own independent distribution label. With the help of one of the mixtape game's #1 mixtape DJs, Newz soon found his joints in heavy rotation across the board. With some of the hottest DJs giving burn to his tracks and freestyles on their mixtapes – including DJ Clue?, Big Mike and Cutmaster C, and the hottest street DVDs – such as Come Up DVD, Cocaine City and SMACK – putting Newz in front of their spotlights, the kid has earned himself an intimidating street buzz.
Dropping his first mixtape with the help of DJ Envy, Newz brought you guys The Takeover last year. With 23 tracks, including joints from Jae Millz, Red Cafe, Maino and Kanye West, Newz cleared his own lane in the mixtape game. His well-received mixtape introduction led the Bed-Stuy storyteller to keep bringing the heat, and right now, it's about that time. With this all-new mixtape from 'Young' Newz, the mixtape fiends are served another helping of exclusives, tracks, remixes and freestyles, including beat-jackings of the Nas classic "It Ain't Hard To Tell" and the T.I. salute "What You Know About That."
